The Rocky Pine Forest 4.26+ is a comprehensive resource pack designed to help developers create realistic pine forests commonly found in North America. The pack supports Nanite for Unreal Engine 5.1+. To ensure optimal performance, users must set the Default RHI to DirectX 12 in Project Settings (Platforms - Windows) and enable SM6 in D3D12 Targeted Shader Formats. All assets feature LODs and are game-optimized. Trees include up to four LODs and use traditional billboards and octahedral impostors for efficient rendering. Two wind systems are provided: a simple mathematical-based system and a Pivot Painter system, both allowing control over wind strength and direction globally via parameters in the Parameter Collection tab. Both systems are optimized, with the simple system being preferable in some cases and the Pivot Painter in others. Two ferns (Lady and Eagle) are interactive and support both wind and interaction systems. All materials are fully customizable, enabling adjustments such as snow height on the background mountain or the offset for pine trunk peeling. The package includes two sample scenes, each pre-configured with UE Default ThirdPersonBP for easy exploration. These scenes are intended for demonstration purposes and are not fully optimized or elaborated. The resource pack contains: 8 pines (red and white, varying in size and state), 2 ferns, 3 grass clusters, 7 scatter needle clusters/debris, 1 background mountain, 6 rocks (3 medium, 3 small) with scale-independent textures, 1 landscape patch (cracked soil after tree fall), and 3 forest ground PBR textures.
