LUMINA GI 2024: Real-Time Voxel Global Illumination v2.5.2c is a voxel-based real-time global illumination system designed for Unity's Universal Render Pipeline. It provides true real-time lighting without requiring baking, SDF solutions, or changes to scene materials. The system supports sun, local, and mesh-shaped light sources, enabling soft shadows with fading edges. It features infinite light bounces with fast convergence and is optimized for high performance, achieving up to 420fps on a Radeon 6750XT GPU. The system remains stable off-screen and respects lighting from external sources. It includes an integrated ambient occlusion module, world-space voxel-based reflections, and future support for fluid fire and smoke effects. LUMINA GI 2024 integrates seamlessly with Sky Master ULTIMATE’s time of day, volumetric clouds, and lighting systems. A ready-to-use combined pipeline is available upon request for users of both assets. The system is compatible with Unity 2022.3 and later, including Unity 6.3 LTS, using the dedicated Lumina Unity 6.3 sample pipeline and native URP voxelizer. It is optimized for Windows desktop development on powerful hardware and includes performance optimization factors. This is the first version of the LUMINA GI 2024 system, which is currently in active development and will be further enhanced in the Universal Render Graph. The system is based on the open-source SEGI project, originally designed for the Standard BIRP Pipeline. New demos are available in Forward+ mode, featuring Sky Master ULTIMATE’s volumetric lighting and painterly effects, as well as interactive room and optimization demos.
